This 998cc Mayfair was nicknamed "Gorby" due to a paint splodge on the roof which looked just like Gorbachev's birthmark. Its other trademark was an alternator which rattled so loudly that when I was picking people up they were always out of the house before I made it up the path!
I had it from April 91 to December 92, by which time it was rather tatty and troublesome, so I decided it was time for a change. I've seen it around several times since, so it must have had a bit of life left in it.
