Pedal box
6 May 2002 by Kerry
tiger I decided to trial-fit the pedal box to make sure I didn't impede the pedal movement when I fitted the driver's footwell end panel. Incidentally, the manual doesn't mention the pedals in the list of donor parts, so it's a good job I didn't scrap the Sierra before I found out that I needed it.

According to the build manual, the whole assembly 'drops in', but I found that it was quite a tight fit even with the pedals removed. It's probably a good idea to note down the order in which all the bits fit on the shaft when you take the pedals off - it took me a couple of goes to get it all right. Then I had to take it all apart again, because I decided it would fit better on top of the chassis bracket, rather than hanging underneath. Unfortunately the master cylinder from my donor is no good, as it's got all the ABS gubbins on it, so I won't know for sure how it fits best until I've got hold of a normal one.
